VIRTUOUS HEALTH CENTERS ASC

The Virtuous Health Centers project is an 8,850 square foot renovation comprised of an interior demolition and build-out of a new ambulatory surgery center in Tempe. Portions of the existing interior were preserved, with the renovation thoughtfully designed around integrating refreshed finishes between the new construction and the original space. The new design features two new operating rooms and new equipment support spaces connected into renovated patient bay areas and existing administrative offices.

The low existing roof structure posed unique challenges, particularly with the limited overhead space in the operating rooms, requiring innovative solutions to accommodate the complex lighting and mechanical systems. The layout of the existing structural masonry walls added another layer of complexity, which constrained the operating rooms within those walls to both maximize their size and minimize any demolition.

Working within these constraints, the design balanced efficiency and aesthetics with clean interior finishes and a methodical patient and staff flow.
